Room Three

Between 18-24 months young children begin to copy familiar expressions and are beginning to put simple sentences together. This is encouraged and supported by one-to-one time through age appropriate activities by communicating effectively with the children during play. To develop the children’s knowledge and confidence we offer activities which incorporate colour and simple shape recognition.
We help to build the children’s self-confidence through showing the children plenty of praise and encouragement when exploring the environment around them. We also provide a wide range of messy and creative activities to help promote the children’s sensory exploration. The children are also encouraged to use their speech and to learn new words in order for them to express themselves. This is also incorporated in giving each child choices, allowing them to indicate their individual preferences, such as which activity to participate in. We also help to introduce the potty if the individual child shows an interest and also upon parent’s wishes.
